Kid Laroi: Perfect World
Photos & Review by Anjeanette Photography for Offstage Exposure
Tuesday June 2nd 2026, the Arizona Financial Theatre, Phoenix Az
At just 22, Kid Laroi just sold out the infamous GREEK THEATRE in LA, which is just a crazy accomplishment. The Greek as is sort of the 'you made it' badge of honor on the West Coast artists strive for. After getting to see him live from the photo pit and from the crowd with my review ticket a few days earlier in Phoenix, I am not surprised in the least.
He has presence and vulnerability, a strong voice and throws some wild moves. With his lyrics and fashion it’s a killer combo of superstar charisma. Yes, I know y’all say that word a lil different but I just feel silly saying it. The aura is strong, have no doubt.
Vibe however, I have no problem putting out there because Laroi is a whole vibe. The crowd absolutely lost it for him, from waiting two hours before the show in 100 degree Arizona heat to get a good barricade position, to happy crash outs and fainting as he performed. And Kid Laroi LOVES his fans, he gets into the crowd with them and sings with them- I really love it when artists do this. Seeing how much he loves his work and performances is great, but this guy really glows when he is surround by his fans. He lights up and creates real connections with him that only last a second maybe, but are unforgettable to those near him and witnessing.
The show starts with a fun sorta space test intro “are the lights good? Check. Camera two? Check” the anticipation is over the top when the giant LEDs bring up blue daydream skies that turn into creamy sherbet sunsets. Hey it’s hot out and Im craving raspberry sherbet what can I say. Those sky visuals with Kid’s silhouetted hip hop moves was hypnotic.
I loved it when the giant stage LED’s focused on him close during Thousand Miles. The onstage videographer, these are the real ones, made the ballad so much more intimate and impactful by seeing him close up. He is so good at showing the emotions he feels, bringing his lyrics to life in a few subtle facial movements. Another reason I love onstage film and video work is glimpses at the crowd, emphasizing that this moment, this night, is an event and connections of artist and fan together.
There were so many cool stage designs in the tour, for example during Rather Be there was a corner built with screens flashing his performance and words like LOVE back at him, while his DJ accompanied. I’m not sure the intention behind that set design, but to me it felt like how isolating a celebrities life can be. How everyone is involved in intimate and personal aspects of their lives, they are always ‘on’ and being watched through moments that should be private.
The set was just timed so kick ass too, bringing the crowd up and down, swaying us and our emotions. DIVA was such a heart thumper. Halfway through the show and he is still dancing at 1000 percent! Two teaser notes to STAY and the crowd done lost their minds, which made Laroi laugh for several moments, before joining the entire stadium who was singing along. He ended on NIGHTS LIKE THIS as he has before, with flashing graphics of current events and architectural or scientific looking plans before flashing PERFECT WORLD. He danced and sang for a solid hour with a break before thanking and telling everyone sincerely how much them being there meant to him.
