You have heard him on Apple’s ALT/CTRL station, and he is even better in person! I got to catch Dove Ellis live at The Crescent Ballroom here is Phoenix, which is such a great venue to getting know artists. Its not too big and not too small, with plenty of great vantages, of course my favorite being right up front hahah. Ellis is soft spokem and polite and really really Irish he said. Sadly no one in the crowd was from Ireland when he asked, however by the end of his performance it felt like we were all friends :)

He has a very humble and authentic way about him which really come through in his music. Emotional without being emo, and heartfelt in every way. Officially Thomas O'Donoghue, better know as Dove, is ‘indie folk’ but there is something more of a polished popular melodic groove in his music to me. However it is obviously full of the stories and experiences we enjoy from indie folk.

I couldn’t find out the bands info but they are killer! Ellis definetly introduced them but I was too slow to catch the names.
